The core of the Arts Center's Mission Statement is "…to make both the visual and performing arts an integral part of the life of our community and region." Of the many ways that this can be achieved, none is more direct, nor more enjoyable to all concerned, than the annual Art from the Schools exhibition. A natural outgrowth of SVAC's fourteen year-old Outreach Program, Art from the Schools showcases work by Northshire area students from the elementary grades through high school. The diverse nature of the artistic talent presented is a testimony to the level of outstanding guidance that the local art teachers provide to nurture creativity in their students. Local elementary and high school students from Arlington Area Child Care, Arlington Arts Enrichment Association, Arlington Memorial High School, Burr and Burton Academy, Currier Memorial School, The Dorset School, Fisher Elementary School, Flood Brook Union School, Grace Christian School, Homeschoolers of Southern Vermont, The Long Trail School, Manchester Elementary and Middle School, Maple Street School, Mettawee Community School, The Mountain School, North Bennington Graded School and Sunderland Elementary School are participating in this year's show.
