ELIGIBILITY:
The Collectors’ Gallery is an excellent opportunity for all Artist Members to display and sell your artwork. This is a juried show which is open to all Artist Members working in painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media and works on paper.
RECEIVING DATES and Commission:
You are invited to submit two new works. The SVAC receives 40% commission on all artwork sold and on all commissions, and 30% of all sales resulting from the Arts Center directing clients to artist’s studio or website . All work must be hand delivered on : Sunday, April 13 (12.30-3.30), Wednesday & Thursday, April 16 &17th ( 11-4pm)
No shipped works accepted
PICK UP DATES:
Work not selected needs to be picked up on April 26th & 29th ( 11-4) or April 27th ( 12-4).All work shown needs to be collected September 16th, 17th or 18th, at the end of the show season, which runs from June 14- September 16,2008.There is no formal opening reception for this show.
MEDIA AND SIZE:
The size of paintings and photographs may not exceed 35” X 45” over-all dimensions. Oil, acrylic, and mixed media work must be professionally framed, READY FOR INSTALLATION, with eye-screws and wire. Watercolor, graphite art, pastels and photographs must be matted and framed with glass and ready for installation as well. All matting and framing must be clean and professionally presented. Sculptural work MUST NOT EXCEED 75 lbs, with the longest dimension no more than SIX FEET. Any submitted work which does not meet these guidelines will not be accepted.
JURY:
RESULTS ON WEBSITE APRIL 24, CALL IN APRIL 25. Jury results will be posted on our website : www.svac.org on Thursday, April 24th at 11am, and artists can phone the Arts Center for results 12-5pm on April 25th. Do not call before then, and we will not call you.
SALES:
Works submitted must be for sale. A commission of 40% will be taken by the SVAC on all sales & commissions, & 30% of all sales resulting from the Arts Center directing clients to artist’s studio or website. Submit new work. SVAC reserves the right to sell the work in three installments. Payment to artists for works sold will be made after the end of the show when SVAC has been paid in full by the purchaser.
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:
All artists are requested to submit up-to-date resumes and biographical information when entering art work in SVAC exhibitions, in order to assure that this material is available to prospective buyers.
LIABILITY:
By signing the Entry Form, the artist acknowledges that Southern Vermont Arts Center Inc. shall use all reasonable care in the handling, storage and display of the artist's work submitted for Exhibition. Artist also acknowledges that it is the Artist's sole responsibility to adequately insure his or her work against loss due to damage, theft or other while on the property at Southern Vermont Arts Center or while in transit from said property and further agrees to hold harmless, Southern Vermont Arts Center, Inc.

The Rewards of Artist Membership: Join as
an Artist Member and take advantage of the various opportunities
to exhibit and sell your art work. We welcome artists working
in the fine arts. Artist Members may exhibit throughout the
year in the Collector’s Gallery, the Annual Members’
Exhibition*, the National Fall Open Exhibition, and the Annual
Winter Exhibition – all members exhibitions are open to
Artist Members at no charge. Once you become an Artist Member,
detailed information will be mailed to you prior to each show.
Artist
Members receive the following benefits: Free admission
for you and two guests to the galleries year round. Festival
of the Arts annual catalog and newsletters. Preferred event
and exhibition mailings. Discounts on classes, travel programs
and selected events. 10% off all purchases in the museum gift
shop. * The Annual Members’ Exhibition has geographical
restrictions

The Collectors’ Gallery
June - September
This is not an exhibition selected by jurors, rather gallery
space reserved to showcase Artist Members’ work intermittently
throughout the summer season. Limited to 2 works. Open to all
Artist Members. All work must be hand delivered.
Annual Members’ Exhibition
May - June
Artist Members with a residence in Vermont or within a thirty
mile radius of the Arts Center may submit up to three pieces
for this juried exhibition. At least one work is guaranteed
to be selected for this exhibit. All works must be hand delivered.
SVAC does not accept any work for this show that is shipped.
Solo Exhibitions
July 31 deadline
Open to all artists, members and non-members, who work in painting
in any medium, mixed medium, photography and indoor or outdoor
sculpture. Solo show applications are for the next year’s
summer and winter exhibition seasons. See fees listed below.
Solo Exhibition Application Guidelines
Applicants for Solo Shows must submit a resume, six slides indicative
of material intended for exhibition, retail price list, a $10
handling fee, and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for slide
return. Address applications to the Visual Arts Committee. Notification
is made in November. Chosen exhibitors incur a charge of $200
to defray expenditures on invitations, placement in the Arts
Center’s catalog, and publicity.
SVAC Policy
This year the Arts Center will receive a 40% commission on all
works sold.
Although every effort will be made to return slides, the Arts
Center assumes no responsibility for them and requests that
only duplicates be submitted for consideration. All artists
are requested to pick up their work on the dates set for each
show, including Collector’s Gallery exhibits.
