Gallery Director

The Southern Vermont Arts Center (SVAC) is seeking qualified application for the position of Gallery Director.

This position is responsible for ensuring the successful operations of the sales gallery program in SVAC's Yester House galleries.  The Gallery Director is responsible for coordinating and supervising the sales gallery exhibitions,  reviewing applications by artists for exhibitions, handling and hanging of solo,  member and themed exhibitions and coordinating all juried shows, including procuring qualified jurors.  The Gallery Director  is the principal contact for works offered for sale at SVAC. 

Organizational skills, communication skills, attention to detail, demonstrated administrative and research skills are required as well as strong computer skills.
Arts experience or gallery sales preferred.  Enthusiastic interest in the arts and an eagerness to learn a must.

Position starts immediately, and applicants must be able to commit to work Wednesday through Sunday.  This is a full time salaried position with excellent benefits. 
Salary based on experience.
