Autumn in Vermont-Pastels in Plein Air with Susan OgilvieThis workshop is for the pastel painter who has some experience with the medium, and is interested in developing a stronger commitment to composition and content in their paintings. The class will consist of both indoor and outdoor activities (weather permitting). Students will create field studies each day, and we will use the studio for review, analysis, and resolution of field work. Topics will include- composing, not just copying, concise field studies—simplified and dynamic, developing field reference for studio painting, and color as narrative—looking beyond local color. Susan will provide demos to clarify each day’s topic, assist students individually while working, and conduct group critiques during the workshop. Minimum 10/Maximum 18 students.  Download a materials list HERE.
