Ceramics and Sculpture with Lauren SilverThis workshop is designed to introduce students to the medium of clay from its raw state to the finished product. Students learn the ceramic skills of hand-building, including pinch, coil, and slab, as well as basic wheel throwing techniques. Students draw from personal experience to develop expressive content in projects. All projects will be kiln fired. Material fee due when class begins: $25.00. This workshop is for any level and will take place at the Burr & Burton Academy ceramics studio. Minimum 6/Maximum 12 students.

Lauren Silver teaches ceramics at Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester, VT. A Fulbright recipient, she is a ceramic sculptor who has a BFA from Parsons School of Design and a MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Before moving to Vermont, she taught ceramics and sculpture at Parsons School of Design, Brookdale, and Raritan Valley Community Colleges. She has shown her work in museums and galleries in the U.S. and Europe. She lives in Dorset with her husband, and two sons.
