Introduction to Portraiture with Dawn Miller
Portraiture can be intimidating. This course offers a solid, painter-friendly approach to obtaining a likeness in your portraiture while having fun. We will begin with understanding the architecture of the face, then investigate how to use color and light to render believable skin tones and shadows. We will also cover how to select the best photo references, how to “build” hair and how to select and develop a supportive background. Students will work from photos in the medium of their choice. The instructor will be working in pastels. This course is for beginners to intermediate artists. Minimum 6/Maximum 12 students. Download a materials list HERE.
