Watercolorist Anne Harhay began painting Vermont landscapes, en plein air, more than thirty years ago with renowned watercolorist Claude Croney. "The fluidity and directness of the watercolor medium were a perfect match to my own nature," says Harhay. "Painting directly and on the spot with watercolors allows me the freedom to be creative and interpretive." She paints on Monhegan Island, Maine, in the summer, finding the effects of light on rock, sea, and the untouched wilderness spectacular. She exhibits her work in juried shows throughout New England. Harhay teaches art in the Hartford, Connecticut, school system.
