GALLERY IX

Susan Wadsworth, chair of the Humanities Department at Fitchburg State College, feels that art history and studio art are inextricably linked. She?s exhibited widely throughout New England in juried solo and group shows; she has also given presentations on various art historical subjects, from the Renaissance architecture of Bramante in Vigevano, Italy, to theories of Kandinsky and Hans Hofmann. The pastels in this exhibition ? some of which are as much as twenty layers in depth ? were inspired by her family?s travels to Brittany and Paris, and ski vacations in New England.
