GALLERY I
A professional painter for more than two decades, David Dunlop is a master practitioner of the techniques of "Old Masters," including those associated with the 17th century Dutch traditions of Rembrandt, the ideal Italian landscape vision of Claude, the 19th century naturalist visions of Constable, Turner and Corot, the plein air oil sketches of the Hudson River School painters like Gifford and Church, and the colorist techniques of Monet and the Impressionists. A faculty member of the Silvermine Guild Art Center in Connecticut, Dunlop received his MFA from the Pratt Institute and regularly conducts painting and art history tours and workshops in Europe and Japan. He has lectured widely, including at New York’s Metropolitan Museum, and is currently working on a series of thirteen programs for PBS, entitled "Landscapes Through Time with David Dunlop."
