A highly regarded and heavily collected Vermont landscape painter,
Eric Tobin tries to capture the landscape, as he sees it, to get
the feeling of the place, the way the light plays on different objects,
the time of the day and the season of the year. His love for his
native Vermont can be seen in each of his works; they evoke the
feelings of the natural setting in which he chooses to paint. "By
painting directly outdoors," Tobin says, "you see things
that you would miss from a photograph. I particularly like painting
in the winter, spring,and fall." Tobin’s work has been
shown in many galleries throughout New England and can be found
in public and private collections across the country and abroad.
