Skye Forest’s pastel vistas of land, water and sky are often interpreted as somewhat photorealistic or dreamlike and surreal. As a long distance swimmer and a mental health practitioner, she believes that "the tranquility and majesty of the unpopulated landscape and the heavens can soothe and inspire us." Although she primarily exhibits in New England, Skye has had regional, national and international shows and has won several awards. Her work was included in L’Art du Pastel, published in France in 2006, and she recently won an Award of Merit at an international exhibit near Paris; her paintings were displayed at the gallery in Monet’s Gardens in Giverny, France.
