Joy Huckins-Noss
GALLERY IX
Joy Huckins-Noss is a contemporary en plein air painter who creates interpretive landscapes that focus on our experience of nature. Her style is similar to Pointillism, but has a fresh contemporary edge. She applies color in multiple layers to create a uniquely textured web of color and light, evoking her mood and response to the landscape. Her paintings have been exhibited extensively around Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire. Notable individual shows include the Julian Scott Gallery at Johnson State College (2001), Helen Day Art Center in Stowe, Vermont (2002), here at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester (2002), and the Vermont Governor’s Office in 2003. An exhibition of Huckins-Noss’s paintings was held at the Tribeca Showroom of Pompanoosuc Mills in New York City in 2006.
