ENTRANCE GALLERY
A professional artist of some forty-odd years, George Van Hook grew up in the Philadelphia area where he spent a great deal of time studying the masters at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and immersing himself in the Bucks County Impressionist and the Brandywine art traditions from the early 20th century. A noted and award-winning figurative artist, Van Hook’s oil paintings hark back to the works of William Merritt Chase and display the Impressionist interest in color, light and rich pigment. His landscapes, still lifes and figurative paintings have been exhibited widely in galleries throughout the United States, as well as in Europe and Japan. George Van Hook lives in New York State with his wife, Sue.
