GALLERY VII
Sixty-six-year-old Jerald Cajko admits to having studied art in the US and Europe from 1959 through 1967 but he makes it clear that he’s been an artist and a student of drawing and color since he was a toddler. "My daily life has always included painting," says Cajko. "I live to paint, to experience my talents, explore the limitless colors of the world… to savor this life as a painter." He has traveled, lived and painted all over the world, studying the artists and art forms of the Netherlands, Indonesia, India, Japan, Afghanistan and the Caribbean, with each stop adding to his "visual vocabulary." He is in nineteen collections worldwide and has been featured in publications that run the gamut from Architectural Digest to the Catskill Mountain Guide. Of the many glowing notices he’s received, his favorite is from Simone Ellis’ piece in Art in America: "Cajko’s work is sheer exuberance, a visual treat."
