The Southern Vermont Arts Center has benefited greatly from the guidance of trustees who know and love fine art. For these men and women, the love of art expresses itself in many ways, not the least of which is a passion for collecting. Whether it is a small handful of cherished pictures or a comprehensive survey of painting and sculpture, each individual collection is different, reflecting all of the wonderful possibilities that art and personal taste afford. This exhibition, which consists of generous loans from the personal collections of our trustees, will be an inspiration to all who have ever experienced the joy of living with art.

Variety and quality will be the hallmarks of this exhibition. Featured works will include fine paintings by Hudson River School masters such as Jasper Francis Cropsey and Jervis McKentee. Arts Center favorites Luigi Lucioni, Ogden Pleissner, and Arthur Jones will also be represented, along with historic works by Agnes Richmond and Thomas Sully.
