“The Tonalists of the late 1880’s and their emphasis on the importance of atmosphere and light continue to influence my work.”

Artist Bev Walker was born in Rangeley, Maine and raised her two daughters in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She received her B.S. in design at the University of Michigan and her M.A. in studio art at Eastern Michigan University. She is represented by galleries in Michigan and has recently been featured in group shows in Vermont, Maine and Chicago. She is past president of Ann Arbor Women Artists – a 200 member group of more than 50 years duration and in 1999, became co-founder of the Washington Street Gallery of Ann Arbor. Bev Walker and her husband now spend their summers on the coast of Maine, which is an inspiration for her more recent portraits of trees.
