Kathie Thompson’s style – it’s been described as “realist tinged with impressionism” – as well as her obvious passion for rich and luminous oils owes much to her strongest influence, the atmospheric, somewhat romantic landscapes of the mid-nineteenth century’s Hudson River School. She exhibits here at the Southern Vermont Arts Center and has studied under prominent artists such as Dennis Sheehan; she currently studies with Audrey Romano and still life artist, Elizabeth Torak.
