Hankerin' 4 Hank: The Music of Hank Williams Sr.

Hankerin' 4 Hank delivers the authentic sound of country music legend Hank Williams and his Drifting Cowboys, complete with the doghouse bass and honky-tonk guitar and steel that so much defined the music of that era. All instruments and clothing are authentic-right down to the Manuel suit and Martin guitar. The band includes musicians Jim Paul Blair, Virgil Bonham, Clifford Parrett, Cory Wyatt, Mickey Flatt and Dana Hazzard. They will reprise such favorites as I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry, I Saw the Light and Cold, Cold Heart. Step back in time and experience the look, the sound, the legend of Hank Williams. Hank Williams is generally regarded as the greatest country singer-songwriter of all time. His beautiful, witty, and often heartbreaking songs are a huge part of the groundwork for American country, blues, and rock and roll as it developed in the early 1950s and on. His southern charm, sense of humor, and honest voice drew listeners to him like a magnet.

The Platters

One of the leading R&B groups of the 50’s, The Platters secured their first hit in 1955 with Only You, followed by many more including The Great Pretender, My Prayer and Twilight Tim. Smoke Gets In Your Eyes arguably remains the group’s best-loved release.

It has been nearly 30 years since the last original member left The Platters and still the group remains one of the most popular in rock & roll history. They have toured in some 75 countries and are still delighting audiences on a regular basis. So step on in, take a seat, and get ready for a ride down memory lane.
