Why volunteer at SVAC?

There may be as many answers to that question as there are SVAC Volunteers, but there is one thing that all of the Arts Center's volunteers have in common: the firm belief that the Southern Vermont Arts Center enhances the quality of life for all of those who live, work, and vacation in the Manchester region.

Botany Trail: Volunteers assist the Trail Supervisor with maintenance of the trail.

Children's Events: Help our staff host events for children with hands-on art activities. Our events for children last year included: Be an Art Student for a Day, Sci-Fi Art Day, and Art on the Hill for Families.

Flower Arrangements: Join our group of volunteers who drop off a floral arrangement for Yester House and the Wilson Museum before the weekend. This is a great way to share your garden with the community.

Fundraising Events: Holiday Dinner at Yester House, Night at the Races, and the Scottish Winter Ball are just a few of the fundraisers at SVAC. Volunteering for a fundraising event is a great way to concentrate your volunteer time during one season of the year.

Gardening:  Assisting Manchester Garden Club gardeners keeping the flower beds in beautiful condition for our visitors.

Hospitality:  Volunteers assist in supplying, preparing, and serving refreshments during opening receptions at the Yester House galleries.   Opening Receptions are held on Saturdays; the schedule and sign up sheet is enclosed.
