Negina Azimi:
Through My Eyes: Beauty and Journey from Kabul to Vermont
Reflecting the beauty, strength, and resilience of Afghan women, often unseen and unheard, Azimi’s art explores their untold stories and honors the rich cultural heritage they represent. The artist discusses her personal journey from Kabul to Vermont, capturing both challenges and growth along the way–a tribute to the women who have inspired her and to the journey that has shaped her.
Anthony Surratt:
Layers of Materiality: Accumulation, Process, Surface, Nostalgia, and My Dad
Surratt discusses his “Detritus Accumulatus” body of work, which mines themes of family history, nostalgia, and decay. Above all, it is built—literally and figuratively—out of artifacts and life lessons a father left behind and which imprint themselves indelibly on a son’s artistic expression.
