This hands-on glass workshop welcomes artists of all experience levels. Inspired by the colors and patterns of monarch butterfly wings, you’ll create your own glass square using sheet glass and frit (tiny pieces of sand- and pebble-sized glass). Along the way, you’ll learn key techniques like scoring and cutting, with plenty of guidance. We’ll take a lunch break from 12:00–1:00 pm, and closed-toe shoes are required.

After an initial kiln firing, your piece will be carefully draped over a stainless steel mold and fired again, transforming it into an elegant, flowing butterfly vase—sculptural and functional.

Finished pieces will be ready for pickup at SVAC approximately two weeks after the workshop. Please note that projects cannot be mailed.
