Welcome to ceramics! This class is an introduction to the studio, material, and different fabrication methods using hand building techniques and the potter’s wheel.
Each week, Zena will introduce a new handbuilding technique, and you will have time to practice. We will utilize coil building, pinch, and slab construction to create functional and/or non-functional pieces.
An introduction to the potter’s wheel will help you understand the basics of centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. You’ll finish your pieces using studio glazes.
Each participant will receive 25 pounds of clay, included in class fees.
