Home Sweet Home: an Artist Residency and Community Project with Artist Magda Love
Opening Reception: Saturday, August 10 from 2-4 p.m.
Exhibition on view: August 10-September 8, 2019

We are featuring internationally known artist, Magda Love, in our Summer 2019 Artist in Residence program. The residency, running from August 10 – September 8, 2019, will feature Love’s work in a solo exhibition in SVAC’s Gallery 1 at Yester House and includes an on-campus sculpture project for the Stroup Family Sculpture Park. She will also be working on various projects with students from our local schools.

The exhibition will showcase brand new works of art. Love’s unique style blends her Argentinean upbringing by her father, a sculptor, and her mother, a teacher, with imagery inspired by indigenous cultures. Love’s work primarily focuses on contemporary social issues and environmental activism. Included in the exhibition will be paintings and woodcuts built from salvaged and rescued wood.
