Howard Fishman began his career in New Orleans three decades ago, forging a unique sound that combines the sounds and rhythms of that city with country, punk, gospel and experimental music that
The New York Times has written “transcends time and idiom.” He’s toured internationally, released eleven albums to date, and has been featured on numerous NPR programs including FRESH AIR, WORD OF MOUTH, WORLD CAFE, and FRESH SOUNDS. Fishman will be on tour this summer playing a batch of new material along with old favorites, and will be joined by his New Orleans-style brass band, The Biting Fish, featuring Kenny Bentley on sousaphone, Andrae Murchison on trombone, Rafael Castillo-Halvorsenn on trumpet, and Mark McLean on drums.
