We will discuss the ways we usually see, and we will push to see both differently and more, to think and observe beyond what is evident at first glance. We will explore stylistic options. The intent of this workshop is to broaden horizons while honing skills.

The Chosen Image is based in the SVAC studio. Cynthia will provide landscape images, and attendees may choose to bring their own as well.

Day 1: Paint the landscape as is shown in the photo (honing traditional skills).
Day 2: Choose specific elements or details in the landscape to enlarge into one’s own painting.
Day 3: Interpret the landscape in a more personal artistic voice.

Medium is artist’s choice. Open to intermediate and advanced painters, adults and ages 16+ with instructor permission. Demos will be in oils and other media as necessary.
