Four Monday afternoons in January–via Zoom
In this class we will explore the various types of shadows that are important in creating a drawing as well as the light source that creates the shadows. We will study different techniques to create shadows and shadow shapes and how to create mood with shadows. Drawings will include the interior still life, outdoor landscapes and architecture. All levels of experience are welcome. A suggested materials list is below, and house-found materials are also an option. Please contact Erin at SVAC if you have questions about supplies or any other aspect of the class. The class is open to teens with parent/guardian permission. Limited scholarships are available.

Set of graphite drawing pencils
Sakura Pigma Micron Permanent Ink Pens
Charcoal – pencils, vine, and/or condensed
Set of colored pencils
Watercolor set and brushes
Watercolor paper pad
Pastels – chalk, pencils or crayons
