Opening Reception: Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 3 – 5 p.m.
Paired with Monumental: Misoo Bang and Sarah Tortora is Happy: Lauren Booth. Booth’s exhibition, Happy, will begin in the Wilson Museum Galleries and spill out into SVAC’s landscape and Stroup Family Sculpture Park. Booth’s work takes viewers into a whimsical world of sunshine, rainbows, and natural forms as she creates work in light, neon and resin.
A native of Northern California, Lauren Booth lived and worked in London and Australia before moving to Connecticut with her family. Booth earned a degree in sculpture from Kensington Chelsea College. Using resin, neon and light as her medium, much of her work is about turning inward, paying attention to the dreams and thoughts that arise in meditation. Her work has been shown at The Mattatuck Museum, Waddesdon Manor, Rothschild Collection at Windmill Hill, The Mattatuck Museum, and Connecticut Sculpture Walk.
