Hobbit Camp

During this magical camp, campers will explore the world of fantasy and fairytales through writing, theater and visual art. Campers will create, produce and perform a play about fairies and build fairy houses from natural materials. At the end of the camp, the campers will perform their play and exhibit their fairy houses for the public and their families.

About Lynne Debeer:
Lynne studied at the Art Students League of NYC and Pratt University, and then earned a BA at Skidmore College. She then pursued further studies at the Vermont Studio Center, Bennington College and UMASS Dartmouth in printmaking, bookmaking and painting.

Lynne had a 40-year career in graphics, art directing and design, while always pursing her passions of painting, teaching and volunteering as a board member at museums, art schools and art agencies. She has been an arts administrator (museum), fine arts consultant (Dumont Landis, NYC) and has worked with youth and artists for over 30 years to develop and market their work. Lyne is currently teaching visual art and design part time at Sophia Academy (an independent middle school for low-income girls) in Providence, RI, as well as assisting Sophia Academy in developing and executing an arts expansion plan to include music, dance, theater, visual technology and design. When she’s not at Sophia, Lynne can be found teaching workshops and studio classes in RI art centers, as well as her studio – Inside/Out Studio and Workshops in Bristol, RI.
