Exhibition on view: Thursday, March 19 – Thursday, April 2 in the Wilson Museum’s Luigi Gallery
Six talented Long Trail School seniors are showcasing two years’ worth of portfolio development in an art show which opens on March 19 in the Luigi Gallery of the Wilson Museum. The exhibition is the culmination of a rigorous two year International Baccalaureate Visual Art program where students create a cohesive body of work, addressing a personally chosen theme in a diverse selection of media.
The IB program requires students to show their process, planning, and research into a variety of artists and artistic genres. Their stunning Process Journals will be on display along with their work. The six artists who will be exhibiting are Gretchen Hammell, Chaeli Knapp-Wilson, Kelly Thibodeau, Maxwell Perry, Lang Quail and Chengyi “Sandy” Wang. Students in the past have commented that this is the highlight of their high school career as they have created artwork that has personal meaning to them, and which showcases their diverse interests, passions, and talent in a professional venue.
