Born in the U.K., of West Indian decent, Wayne moved to New York City when he was seven. Growing up in the Bronx, he became obsessed with the many great graffiti writers of the late 70s and early 80s. In 1983, Wayne became “Wane One” when he painted his first train, which sparked a lifelong love for graffiti and the culture that surrounded it. In 1988, Wayne started experimenting and exploring other media. Currently, he divides his time between painting, running his company “Writers Bench,” and collaborating on projects with corporations like Nike, Reebok, and New Balance.
