Propose an Exhibition

Thank you for your interest in proposing an exhibition at SVAC. Your thoughtful responses to the application questions will help us determine whether the project aligns with our institutional goals and resources. We welcome submissions from artists and artist collectives as well as from curators and traveling exhibition services.

Exhibition Priorities
SVAC’s preference is for multi-artist proposals. If you are applying as an individual artist, we encourage you to consider SVAC’s annual Solo exhibition program instead – click HERE for more information.

SVAC is committed to achieving greater representation and inclusion of historically marginalized communities through the artwork, voices, and stories that we present. Priority will be given to projects that help us further this goal. Timeline
Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis and we may provide feedback / request additional information before making a final decision. Due to the volume of proposals received, we are not able to respond to every inquiry. Currently, we are considering proposals for 2023 & 2024 and may not be able to commit to projects outside of that timeframe.

Exhibition Spaces
There are two main interior exhibition spaces at SVAC. Applicants can indicate building and gallery preferences, but SVAC will determine final space allocation based on our calendar of projects, the scale of the artworks, and other factors.

• Yester House offers up to 10 intimately-sized galleries in a historic 1917 estate. Proposed exhibitions should be able to fill multiple galleries.
• The Elizabeth de C. Wilson Museum has two modern galleries, totaling 3,000 sqft. Proposals may be for one or both galleries.

In addition, we welcome proposals for outdoor installations on our more than 100-acre campus and sculpture park.
